About the LED
There have been only two options for LEDs: OLED or QLED. QLED provides the most colour depth, while OLED is more responsive. There’s now a third option: Micro LEDs.

What is a Micro LED?
Micro LED technology was first developed by a group scientists in 2000. It uses individual LEDs to create a picture on a screen. Televisions that don’t use OLED have LEDs that backlight an LCD (liquid Crystal Display). This is why it sounds so intriguing to use individual LEDs on the screen.
These Micro LEDs will give TVs a crystal-clear image due to better colour selection, brightness and contrast. Because there is no backlight, Micro LEDs will allow for thinner TVs.
What are the advantages?
It will provide unsurpassed picture quality. The pure Micro LEDs can create stunning images with outstanding contrast. True black will now be possible for the first time, creating dramatic effects.
OLED etch is a good comparison. OLED and Micro LED don’t require backlights, they emit light themselves. OLED TVs have a fast refresh rate and are energy-saving. Micro LEDs are more efficient and brighter than traditional OLED TVs. Because it lacks organic components, it won’t fade over time like OLED TVs.

What are the disadvantages?
They don’t even exist in commercial forms, which is a major problem. While there are some examples in cinemas, they don’t exist on the domestic market.
Samsung, which appears to be the company making the most progress with its domestic Micro LED TVs has previously announced a delay for Micro LED TVs. This technology is unlikely to be widely available for many years.
The size issue is also important. Most companies looking to make these products available in the next few decades are considering sizes that would make even a 50-inch TV seem small. Samsung offers three sizes of Micro LED TVs: 88, 99, and 110 inches. This is a little too big for most homes.
This is almost a given, but the cost of these TVs will be insane when they hit the market. The smallest options will still be expensive at many thousands of pounds.
